Tyrone has immersed himself in the industry as a pro-
moter, producer, DJ, film/theatre composer and cabaret performer; and released/toured a top 10 AIR indie chart album in 2005 (jazz group Palimpsest www.palimpsest.com.au) before embarking on his long-awaited solo career.
In 2007, Tyrone represented his state of Queensland (one of three artists chosen) at the A&R Worldwide Musexpo conference, the Oz City Song Cycle and Passport Approved Indie 103.1FM/Nettwerk showcases in Los Angeles; performed at The State Premier's Queensland Advance Expatriate Awards at the Rockefeller Centre in New York, was featured in Billboard Magazine’s Underground performance/interview series and began production for his debut full-length album (“I Believe”) with Paul Peterson (Prince, Stevie Wonder, Steve Miller, Lionel Richie, The Beach Boys etc) and mix engineer Steve Hodge
(Grammy winning-producer, Flyte Tyme Studios Chief Engineer 1986-2003 - Janet and Michael Jackson, TLC, George Michael).
He also undertook a successful Australian solo tour in October/November 2007 with Paul Greene and Karl Broadie.
The mini-album Heavy Soul Part 1 (released September 16 2006) was accompanied by national full band touring and key festival performances continuing into 2007. "You Know" was the iTunes-featured Single Of The Week, while the single "Back (Where I Started From)" received solid national airplay and video rotation.
In 2008 Tyrone moved to the UK, based in London for six months, where he performed numerous high profile gigs including TNT Magazine's Annual Month Of Music and the Toast festival at Kensignton Olypmia, along with a weekly mix of solo and band shows at venues across London from Camden to Fulham, Cobden to Islington and beyond.
Late 2009 saw Tyrone relocate to the US, based in New York, where he is now building a strong profile on the live circuit with an awesome new band line-up, amidst growing management and label interest
Katie
Katie released the fantastic album "Skin" in 2007, collaborating with amazing musicians from all around the world. The album featured the infectious single "Time To Begin", and was backed up by extensive touring throughout Australia.
Says Katie: "I even find myself dancing a little, which is something totally new for me!" laughs Noonan. "I've been on a really amazing journey since George (took a break), and now I'm running on all cylinders. It's been a long time from conception to birth - I had over 50 songs to choose from. This is the record I've been waiting to make."
She also toured with Josh Groban last year and conducted an extensive national tour with the Australian Chamber Orchestra in February and March 2008.
Katie is also thoroughly enjoying being a Mum to Dexter, Jonah and wife to Isaac.
Over the last two years Katie Noonan and her new band ‘The Captains’ ( Cameron Deyell – guitar, Stu Hunter – keys/bass, Declan Kelly – drums) have been building a vessel of exciting new songs.
A return to form for Katie, this band sees the songstress sailing towards a more beloved lush and organic sound with her trademark strong and inspired personal stories.
Katie has co-written songs with a host of Anzac luminaries including Tim Finn, Don Walker, Sia Furler, Josh Pyke, Tom Shapcott and her fellow ‘Captains’ band mates.
Katie and the band have been berthing a series of underground warehouse gigs around Sydney to test the waters and warm up the tunes live. Stay tuned to Katie’s myspace and facebook for regular updates/new demoes/gig footage etc and for a glimpse of what promises to be an inspired voyage. www.katienoonan.com or www.myspace.com/katienoonan
